The showing is over. Now what?
A good decision deserves better notes.

By the fourth showing, the kitchens start blending together. Before you open the next front door, take two minutes to record what you actually noticed.
Keep three separate lists: what works, what can be changed, and what would stop you buying. Be specific. “Small kitchen” means more than “something felt off.”
Add the practical details: storage, laundry, work space, bedroom layout, natural light, and the way you move through the home. Then write down the questions that need answers.
Compare each home against the same priorities. An unfinished basement might be manageable. A layout that cannot support your everyday routine may be a different conversation.
The next step is to review the property information, relevant comparable sales, costs, and due diligence together. An asking price is a starting point for a conversation, not the full analysis.
